This seems to hold the keys to all the previous 'Cloud Station Server' stuff. I suddenly noticed that there is not just the new 'Drive' app, but also a new 'Drive Admin Console'. Is it normal for indexing to take this long? Does indexing have to be on for Synology Drive to work properly? (Why did it automatically turn indexing on?)Īlso, is there any negative consequence to indexing? Does it harm my NAS/hard drive in any way if it is constantly indexing? Should I just wait it out and eventually it will finish? I have about 3.5 TB in the shared folder, most of which is music/movies/pictures. The Synology Home folder setup gives you a nice introduction to understanding that the home directory is typically a safe place to store personal data. User Defined is empty, but Team Folder has my shared folder listed. It appears Shared Folder is a top level folder. File Station gives two choices: > Create > Create Folder > Create > Created Shared Folder Neither is grayed out.
